Abstract
This study investigates the use and impact of Brightpath, a writing assessment tool used by Western Australian (WA) teachers. The research examines whether Brightpath is associated with gains in students’ writing NAPLAN scores. It also investigates Brightpath’s adoption and implementation by teachers across WA primary and secondary school settings. The study explores teachers’ views on the value of the assessment tool as well what are the enablers and barriers to its use. Findings from the study will be confidentially reported to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority, WA.
