    Abstract

In this paper, the buckling behaviours of vacancy defective single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) under axial compression are investigated via molecular dynamics simulations. Single- and double-vacancy defects are considered. The effects of the positions of defects on the buckling properties of SWCNTs are examined.
