Abstract
This chapter will draw on the experience of the authors as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Neil Garrod) and the Head of Educational Development (Bruce Macfarlane) at Thames Valley University (UK) during the four-year period immediately following the merger of the institution with Reading College and Schooll of Arts and Design in 2004.
