N2 - For the carrier frequency offset estimation in wireless LAN applications, three maximum likelihood algorithms are developed by exploiting the OFDM data structures of the short and long symbols. These algorithms can be implemented via polynomial rooting and have a full acquisition range of the carrier frequency offset. Their performance has been studied and compared to that of the methods based on a different model without making use of the inherent structures. By exploiting both models, further improvement can be achieved.
