    Abstract

![CDATA[In this paper, chaos control is addressed for a class of discrete-time chaotic systems. Based on the state feedback control and the characteristic of ergodicity of chaos, a new, yet simple control method is proposed for controlling a class of discrete-time chaotic systems. The feedback gain matrix of the controller can be selected via the pole-placement technique of linear control theory. The new controller has a feature that it only uses the state variables for control and does not require the target equilibrium point in the feedback path. Moreover, the proposed control method can not only overcome the so called "odd eigenvalues number limitation" existing in the delayed feedback control method, but also control the chaotic systems to the specified equilibrium points. A two dimensional discrete-time chaotic system is simulated for illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.]]
