Chaos theory : an introduction for TESOL practitioners

    Abstract

    Chaos theory' is a new set of theories from the hard sciences which have many implications for the humanities and social sciences, including the various forms of study of language, in linguistic in general and the field of ESL in particular. This paper offers a brief introduction to some key concepts from chaos theory, and illustrates these concepts with issues and materials of interest to workers on aspects of teaching and research in TESOL.
