Abstract

Social workers inevitably interact with the criminal justice system and legal practitioners when responding to disclosures and needs of child victims and adult survivors of sexual abuse. This chapter provides commentary on the prevalence, historical and current legal regulation of child sexual abuse as well as discussing the various legal contexts with which social work practice may intersect.
