    Abstract

The reality for most social workers is that, like it or not, they should expect to interact with the legal profession and legal systems as part of their everyday practice. This chapter discusses the association between the professions of law and social work in responses to child sexual abuse. The discussion examines legal aspects of social work practice in Australia, both past and present, leading to a consideration of how socio-legal issues can inform social work practice and intervention.
