Children, Families and Communities

Research output: Book/Research ReportAuthored Book

Abstract

In line with current research and thinking, this edition seeks to advocate for children and families as the key knowledge holders for raising capable and happy children. The authors acknowledge and discuss the profound inequities in child health, education, and wellbeing within the Australian context. However, at the heart of this book is an optimism and recognition of child, family, and community strength and resilience. We adhere to the underlying premise that it is the responsibility of whole communities, including governments, to create environments that give all children every opportunity to explore and to thrive, and to honour diversity in all its forms.
