Abstract

This chapter explored the coefficient of performance (COP) and its significance in energy performance analysis, particularly in relation to nanolubricants and nanorefrigerants. The COP is a critical statistic that determines the effectiveness of refrigeration and heat pump systems and is important in assessing the system's energy performance. Enhancing the energy efficiency of refrigeration and heat pump systems through the use of nanorefrigerants and nanolubricants has shown promising results. Improved thermophysical characteristics including thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficient are displayed by nanorefrigerants, which are refrigerants loaded with nanoparticles. Higher COP values are a result of these improvements, which show improved energy performance and reduced energy use in refrigeration and heat pump systems.
