Abstract
The urgent need for climate change mitigation and disaster recovery plans has resulted in the formation of resilient communities combating climate change and its impact, aided by organizations and partnerships working towards achieving Goal 13 of the Sustainable Development Goals. In this chapter, we discuss the extent to which communities, organizations, and multi-sector partnerships have helped pave the way towards the realization of the common goal on climate change mitigation and recovery. Focusing first on current methods adopted by various countries in climate change mitigation, this chapter then delves into ongoing endeavors within communities within the context of climate change and disaster reduction. The chapter concludes with the role of partnerships as a way forward in climate change mitigation and disaster reduction.
