Abstract

![CDATA[This paper is aimed at improving the efficiency of synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) and PM assisted SynRM (PMSRM) by optimizing flux barriers on hybrid rotors. Numerous designs are simulated, and results are presented for best possible PMSRM design with high performance by using FEM techniques. The paper reviews analytical methods on SynRM and PMSRM and then focus on SynRM FEM simulation. Two different cases are simulated and the best design is selected for PM assisted simulation. The PM assisted simulation focus on optimum size PMs for highly efficient machine rather than just efficiency.]]
