Abstract

Many differences in clinicopathological features of gastric cancer and its treatment have been reported between the East and the West however such a comparison using Australian data is still lacking. Gastric cancers seen in Australia differ significantly from those seen in South Korea with different treatment strategies. This analysis will be the basis for comparison of surgical outcomes including survival between the two countries and has also highlighted the need for more stringent and widespread prospective data collection of gastric cancer and its management in Australia.
