Abstract
TO THE EDITOR: The study by Causer and colleagues (1) investigated the use of a maximal oxygen uptake (VË™ O2max) verification protocol in patients with cystic fibrosis. We commend the authors for their assessment of clinical data and the new insight they provide about the safety and feasibility of this procedure. However, questions remain about the validity of this type of protocol and the presence of confirmation bias in the analysis of findings (2).
