Abstract

Contact lens-induced papillary conjunctivitis (CLPC) is one of the major reasons for discontinuation of lens wear, more often with extended wear of hydrogel lenses. CLPC is an inflammatory condition of the upper palpe- bral conjunctiva (UPC) characterized by raised, polygonal to irregular papillae, varying in size from 0.4 to >2.0 mm in diameter. Hyperemia of the UPC and excessive mucus production are frequently seen. The condition can be categorized into two distinct cat-egories: local and general.
