Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To determine if continuous or intermittent bolus intragastric tube feeding reduces the number of episodes and duration of gastro-oesophageal reflux (GOR) in preterm and low birth weight infants. Subgroup analysis: gestational age; birth weight; age in days from birth at full enteral feeding via intragastric tube (breast versus bottle); frequency of intermittent bolus feed; type of medication for treatment of GOR (only if medication prescribed and given similarly for both intervention groups).
