Covid-19 crisis response : did Australian professional sport move fast enough?

Research output: Chapter in Book / Conference PaperChapter

Abstract

This chapter presents a critical discussion of approaches used by prominent Australian professional sport organizations in their initial response to the Covid-19 pandemic as it engulfed the country. The analysis of this time will draw insights from crisis management and public relations literature, illustrated through three case studies from the first few months of 2020. In this analysis important elements such as emotionality, crisis administration, and first mover advantage are examined.
