Abstract
The chapter asserts that visual communication design has the potential to be considered a 'meta' activity in order to significantly contribute to transdisciplinary forms of collaboration. Through the lens of a metadesign framework we explore what it might offer visual communication designers in future transdisciplinary research, drawing from the authors' experiences of working in a transdisciplinary project team where unique forms of visual knowledge were required.
