    Abstract

![CDATA[This paper begins by reviewing both the innovation process and the underlying individual act of creativity and considers the influence individual experience and background has on these processes. The paper then considers two case studies to illustrate how culture may cause divergence in the way in which innovation is approached and problems solved. Finally, this paper uses the four cultural theme framework first proposed in Low and Chapman (2003) as a basis for presenting research propositions to investigate how a firm’s innovation processes could be structured to take advantage of differences in the impact of individual action on creativity and innovation due to organisational and national culture variations.]]
