title = "Critical review of models for measuring integration of construction supply chains",
abstract = "The Egan report in 1998 highlighted problems in construction supply chains and proposed the integration of construction processes and products in the quest to deliver enhanced value to construction clients. Since then there has been much interest in supply chain management in the construction industry of UK, with many organisations claiming to be involved in integrated supply chains. Hence a need arises for the industry to measure the degree of integration of supply chains. The aim of this paper is to propose a classification model for integration of construction supply chains. In order to fulfil the aim of research, firstly a critical review of literature on existing models proposed for various industries to measure performance of supply chains was conducted. Secondly these models were examined in terms of their applicability to the construction industry. The findings allow practitioners of the construction industry to gauge the degree of integration of the supply chains they are involved in and to understand how to move to higher degrees of integration. The paper gives recommendations for further research to find the correlation between construction organisational performance and the degree of integration of supply chains.",
