Abstract
Stevenson explores issues around cultural planning in Australia, including what is understood by the term and how it is interpreted in practice. She observes that different users understand cultural planning differently, which leads to confusion, ambiguity, and mixed expectations. Furthermore, she argues that, in particular, cultural planning is often identified as purely an approach to arts planning, so the city's cultural plan essentially reflects only this aspect.
