    Abstract

![CDATA[This paper summarises the experiences of applying seasonal climate information for agricultural management in Australia. Emphasis has been given for collaborative research and implementation by scientist - farmer interactions. The Southern Oscillation Index (SOl) based rainfall forecasts has been used to calculate potential Canola yield for Junee region of New South Wales, Australia. Such type of rainfall - yield relationship based calculation of canola yield could be effectively used to frame insurance risk products based on seasonal climate forecasts. Farmers of this region have also used the climate information for decisions related to crop selection, late application of nutrients and sowing pastures. The paper also addresses the experiences of farmers in using climate information in their farming decisions.]]
