N2 - This article discusses why some students have difficulty understanding the concept of administrative law. This article has suggested that the teaching and learning of administrative law can be significantly enhanced by students discussing 'topical issues' in classes, particularly when accompanied by a teaching approach that places the ever-changing legal picture in its historic, political and socio-economic contexts. Similar approaches may be worth pursuing in other fields of law. Further research, and a properly-designed study, may be necessary, however, to fully assess student reactions to, and appreciation of, these educative methods.
