Abstract

This is an account of a dramatherapist working as a school counsellor in Sydney, Australia, in an area of high socio-economic deprivation and with large immigrant and ethnic minority groups. The work took place in three schools, and involved interaction with children and young people as well as with their families and with the teachers involved with the students. The students and their families had access to a range of social supports and agencies with whom the dramatherapist had to liaise. The main collaboration, however, was with staff within schools.
