Dream Weaving: Piano Duet

Research output: Creative WorksComposition

Abstract

Playing piano duets is one of the most intimate ways of making music. Dream Weaving explores this intimacy through crossing hands, exchanged motives and interlocking textures and players are to work out which hand crosses when. Musically the piece moves in a tonal/whole-tone sound world to evoke the shifting, ephemeral quality of dreams. The first performance of Dream Weaving was given by pianists Diana Weston and Mary Sambells, September, 2023.
