Abstract
The global food crisis is unfolding in its totality. It is not simply a crisis caused by overproduction, distribution, speculation, monopolisation, famine, drought or flood. The dimensions of the crisis in the global food system lay within the structure of the system itself. Food stocks have become a tradable commodity on global market. Human need is a secondary consideration, a matter of food aid, in the logic of the existing system.
