Abstract

The chapter presents an overview of the major eating disorders, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, OS/FED and ARFID, their clinical and diagnostic features (with case exemplars), epidemiology, predisposing and maintaining factors, treatments, outcomes, gaps in knowledge and directions for future research. Specific psychological therapies are detailed for each eating disorder.
