Abstract

In this chapter, we introduce readers to key concepts of health economics, with particular relevance to the role of economic evaluation in population health. The material here was derived from a contemporary series of blogs on the economics of population health (www.gcph.eo.uk/latest/blogs) with the aim of facilitating fresh thinking on key matters of importance in the economics of population health.
