    Abstract

The article presents the discussion among the editors of "Angelaki: Journal of the Theoretical Humanities" on the issue of global environmental catastrophe. It talks about the idea of using the photograph of Hooded Gwardar, an endangered snake, on the cover of the journal's August 2009 issue. It discusses the implications of contemporary development in the destruction of human and ecological society. In addition, it examines the insistence of schools and universities on ecopoetics theory.
