Abstract

The year 2017 sees publication of the 25th Sylvia Docker Lecture Award. The 2017 lecture, by Sue Gilbert-Hunt is published in this issue of the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal. It explores themes of partnership, inclusion and innovation evident in occupational therapy education, research and practice. The award was established in 1964 by the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists (now known as OT Australia) to memorialise the contribution and achievements of Sylvia Docker. It recognises distinguished contributions of occupational therapists to occupational therapy education and scholarship. The award is given every two years, following a process of professional association nomination and nation-wide competitive selection.
