Abstract
There is increasing interest in the use of mobile devices in education. M-learning has a number of potential advantages. These include the relatively small cost of devices , increased accessibility and convenience for a range of users and the potential for enhanced collaboration and reflection. Innovative uses such as augmented reality , where objects could provide information about themselves via location-based services, are also becoming possible. However, there are also a number of disadvantages. One of the most serious of these is the lack of educational applications. This paper outlines a range of potential educational applications for mobile devices.
