Abstract

![CDATA[A simulation experiment is carried out in this paper to investigate the effect of learning due to experience, and of forgetting due to interruption on a construction inspection task. In this simulation a reinforced concrete slab was inspected by a number of inspectors with different experience and education levels. The slab had known introduced errors induced into it. The 1- way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) has been used to determine the average, variance in this experiment. The sources of variation between groups and within the groups were calculated including significance level (P Value), degrees of freedom, and random variable factors. The multi comparison procedure was carried out using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) method to determine the statistical significance of the differences of means between different groups of samples. Results found from this inspection experiment demonstrate that inspectors with greater experience and education level needed less effort to detect an error.]]
