Abstract

![CDATA[Multispectral line scanners with large field of view improve efficiency in Earth observation. Small volume of the instruments born with a short focal length, however, may bring a problem: there are different none-linear warping and local transformation between bands. Alignment accuracy of bands is a criteria factor impacting product quality in remote sensing. In this paper, a new elastic band-to-band image registration method is proposed for solving the problem. Rather than carry out registration between bands straightforwardly, corresponding featured images of each band are constructed and used to conduct an intensity based elastic image registration. In this method, the idea of the inverse compositional algorithm is borrowed and expended when dealing with local warping, and a smoothness constraint is also added in the procedure. Experimental results show that the proposed band-to-band registration method works well both visually and quantitatively.]]
