    Abstract

Pushing back tables and chairs, Katherine creates a space in the room. In the centre, on the floor, she places a huge jug containing autumn leaves, greenery and a few red and yellow flowers that release earthy fragrance. The arrangement is surrounded by coloured pencils, crayons, oil pastels, children’s paint boxes and brushes, plastic cups full of water, a lump of clay in a washing-up bowl and a pad of flip-chart paper. Apart from one flickering candle beside the arrangement, the room is lit only by natural light.
