    Abstract

Emergency Department Occupational Therapists are used to assist management of non-urgent patients. Therapists assess function, influence decisions about discharge and facilitate community based needs. To ensure that occupational therapy (OT) practice is specifically targeted for these patients, a comprehensive picture of the types of patients referred, common OT interventions and their post discharge outcomes needs to be developed.
