Abstract

After reading this chapter, readers will be able to: identify and discuss the emerging population health issues in the early twenty-first century with a focus on health promotion strategies for optimal health for travel -- discuss the evidence for causal links between ecological change and its impact on human health and how life styles can be adjusted to maximise health status -- critically analyse how social and lifestyle changes may impact on the overall health status of an individual and their society.
