Abstract

There is growing knowledge about the variable quality of end-of-life care and dying in community residential settings for people with ID. A key determinant of quality care at the end of life lays in the skill of staff. In Australia, very little is understood about what staff members need so they feel adequately equipped to support a person with ID as end of life approaches and death occurs. The aim is to report on these needs as expressed by community living staff.
