Abstract
This paper analyses an interview with two very successful Australian radio comedians, in order to discover the "secrets" of how they connect with an audience they cannot see. Unlike much of the existing literature, this paper prioritizes the comedians' responses as primary evidence, from which conclusions are drawn, and this data is then analyzed through a synthesized frame of Discourse Analysis. It is expected that important insights into the operation of radio humor can be obtained through this method, and that these can be used to inform the general discussion of radio humor.
