Abstract
PURPOSE: To determine the impact of environmental contexts (i.e., activity-promoting practice, standard practice, game, free time) and individual differences in self-determined motivation (SDM) on percent time in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (%MVPA) during a youth sport camp. CONCLUSION: Compared to individual differences in SDM, environmental context was a greater influence on MVPA during this youth sport camp. The impact of individual differences in SDM on MVPA during practices was attenuated when coaches were trained to implement activity-promoting strategies.
