    Abstract

![CDATA[Construction students frequently seek typical examples of the documentation, specifications, scheduling, costing and management records of real projects in order to further their understanding of the construction process. Unless employed by a firm where such information is held, they have considerable difficulty finding it. At the same time industry representatives often complain about the level of practical construction knowledge in University graduates. In the interests of relating construction education to real life projects we plan to seek the contribution of such intellectual property for significant projects in order to establish an educational archive which can be used as a powerful tool to further understanding of the complexities of the construction process. It is intended that the archive commence with significant buildings that could be described as "hallmark" projects and once established be expanded to include representative and elucidatory examples of a broad range of construction types.]]
