Abstract
This research focuses on evaluating the websites of small-and-medium-sized hotels (SMHs) in Malaysia in order to study their hotel website stages model. A set of website evaluation criteria were used to study 33 websites of SMHs in Kuala Lumpur to identify the current stage of hotel websites adoption. The findings of the study reveal that 96.9 percent of SMH websites in Kuala Lumpur have online reservation facilities. In terms of social media marketing, this study highlights that 22 out of 33 websites of SMHs have social media profile links to the website. A total of 90.9 percent of SMHs did not offer a guest loyalty program in their websites. Based on the results of this study, it can be significantly concluded that SMHs in Malaysia from the sample present to be at stage four of the hotel website stages model, which is defined to be an interactive site supporting transactions with customers.
