Evaluation of an acupuncture service in a day oncology unit

    Abstract

    ![CDATA[This presentation is the acupuncture service in the Mater Adults Hospital Brisbane. The service would have been operating for two years at the time of this presentation. I will be presenting the data collected for the last twelve months which has included changes to survey tool identified after the first 6 month review. This will include uptake and usage of the service and the data obtained from research of evaluation of the service. The evaluation of the service consist of a survey completed by the patients after one month of treatment, covering symptoms/s treated, benefits, adverse events, should the service continue, use of other complementary medicine and qualitative data. The changes were to data collected on adverse events, medications and treatments used for the symptoms and changes in usage after acupuncture and the inclusion of MYCaW (Measure Your Concern and Wellbeing) a tool designed for evaluating complementary therapies in cancer support care.]]
