    Abstract

![CDATA[The paper describes 8 tests carried out on reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall structures framed with concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns subjected to constant axial load and cyclic shear load. The main parameters were cross-sectional type, axial compression ratio and height-width-ratio. The influences of these parameters on strength, ductility, stiffness, energy dissipation were investigated. It was found that all specimens failed in shear mode and the lateral load (P) versus lateral deformation hysteretic curves exhibited a noticeable pinching effect, due to low height-width-ratio. The ductility and energy dissipation capacity decreased with higher axial compression ratio or lower height-width-ratio.]]
