    Abstract

Poor mental health is associated with reduced quality of life, lower productivity and poorer general health (Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), 2006a) and is one of the top 10 causes of disease burden (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), 2006). Hence, mental health should not be viewed in isolation- it is closely linked to the wellbeing of individuals, their families and the community as a whole.
