Abstract
Climate change mitigation and sustainability go hand in hand. Businesses that employ power, water, fuel, supplies and waste minimization will reduce their greenhouse emissions and are also able save money by lowering operational costs associated (Blanco, Rey-Maquiera and Lozano 2009; Gossling, 2011) and be socially responsible. This chapter critiques three collaborative research and development projects in Australia, focused on improved sustainability outcomes by small businesses. The approach and processes discussed are intended to assist in any climate change strategies geared toward tourism operators.
