    Abstract

![CDATA[Fallow Deer are commonly found wild, or as captive farm animals, in all States of Australia except for Western Australia. First introduced to Tasmania in the early nineteenth century, and subsequently to mainland Australia, this species has successfully colonised a range of habitats but prefers woodland opening onto grassland. Fallow Deer are now widespread across south-eastern Australia, with large numbers still found in Tasmania.]]
