Abstract
This chapter will discuss parents' experiences, in the neonatal unit, the philosophy of FCC, the importance of, and strategies for, supporting and developing partnerships with families and facilitators and barriers to FCC. Certain vulnerable groups such as fathers and young adults, require extra support to take on the parenting role, and their issues and a therapeutic approach are described here.
