Feminist research : inequality, social change, and intersectionality

Research output: Chapter in Book / Conference PaperChapter

Abstract

In this chapter, we outline the historical development of major schools of thought within the sphere of feminist qualitative research, from feminist empiricism in the 1960s to intersectionality today. We illustrate the implications of feminist research for policy and practice through presenting a case example from our own work to illustrate feminist research design: a qualitative research study of sexual violence against trans women of colour, drawing on feminist intersectionality theory.
