Abstract

The area of eating disorders has come a huge distance in the past 50years. In addition to anorexia nervosa, three new disorders – bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and Avoidant/ Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) – have been delineated. The former Eating Disorder not Otherwise Specified has become Other Specified or Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED/UFED). Evidence-based treatments have been developed for all disorders and including people with severe and enduring anorexia nervosa (Hay et al., 2014).
