Abstract

There has never been a greater need for creative, interdisciplinary scholar-
ship in the field of South Asian and Southeast Asian studies. The reasons
for this are clear. Globalization has eroded geographical and regional
boundaries, bringing with it the opportunities that come from advanced
communication, information and transportation technologies.
